“I’m a huge Dylan fan, so it’s a great honour,” says Ronson of the track, which will have its global radio premiere on August 1. What it sounds like is anyone’s guess right now, but you can live in hope that the Funky Drummer break and a voice saying “This is a journey into sound” might be in there somewhere.
Columbia, who will be releasing the album, have declared that this is the first time a dance producer has been given access to a Dylan recording, but have they forgotten 2000’s remix of All Along the Watchtower by Danish producer Funkstar Deluxe?
In other Ronson news, he’s made it known that if another of his production clients Amy Winehouse is offered the next James Bond movie theme, she has to let him produce it or he’ll never speak to her again.
Proposed Dylan compilation artwork below. Imaginative, isn’t it.
