A new Kate Bush track will appear on the soundtrack for the forthcoming fantasy movie epic The Golden Compass. Lyra will be available for download from December 12 and will feature a hearty contribution from Oxford's Magdalen College Choir. The song was written and produced by Bush in her home studio and is the first new material to appear since 2005's double-LP Ariel.

- The Lemonheads will release a new album in April next year. Head Lemonhead Evan Dando told Billboard: "Yeah, there is new music, and I'll be recording in January. But I don't want to talk about the record too much. After touring for 10 months, we've given the album a fair shake, but the exciting part of the next tour is that it's with the people who actually played on the album. It's the first tour with Bill and Karl, so to me it's like a rebirth of the record." A deluxe edition of the band's beloved breakthrough record It's a Shame About Ray (1992) is also set for release in March and will include B-sides, demos and a bonus DVD.

- Posting on the band's official site, Weezer bassist Scott Shriner confirmed that the band have been in the studio and a new album is on the way.
"I have never been so excited in my life," he revealed. "Weezer fans truly have something to look forward to. The entire band has
accomplished some of its most challenged goals as a group and as
individuals." A release date is yet to be confirmed.
