Lou Reed Heads To SXSW 2008

Lou Reed has been announced as the keynote speaker for the 22nd annual South-by-Southwest Music Conference in Austin, Texas.

The Who's Pete Townshend opened the festival last year, and Reed is now set to follow suit. The event will take place on March 13 at the Austin Convention Center and will include a screening of Julian Schnabel's film, Lou Reed's Berlin.

Steve Reich, Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore, Hall & Oates' Daryl Hall and Sire Records head honcho Seymour Stein, are also set to speak over the course of the festival's four days (March 12-16).
