8 For 2008: Lightspeed Champion

Lightspeed Champion, otherwise known as ex-Test Icicles frontman Devonte Hynes, is set to embark on an extensive UK tour next month in support of his debut album, Falling Off The Lavender Bridge (released on January 21). The LP was recorded in Nebraska with Bright Eyes' producer Mike Mogis at the helm.
As one of MOJO's picks for the new year, Hynes country-tinted pop gems couldn't be further from his previous band's lashings of schizophrenic punk mayhem.
