After a Beatle blackout of 43 years, Israel has finally lifted its ban on the Fabs and invited Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr to fly over in May to celebrate the country’s 60th anniversary. The Israeli ambassador to London and huge fan of the band, Ron Prosor, is currently meeting John Lennon's sister, Julia Baird, in Liverpool. Israel banned The Beatles in 1965 amid fears they would corrupt the nation’s youth. Well, you do have to admit this performance just oozes bad vibes and malevolence. For more info, click HERE.

You’ve probably heard the news that UB40’s Ali Campbell has quit the band after a 30-year tenure as the Brit-reggae outfit’s lead singer. It was originally reported that the 48 year-old had left in order to spend more time pursuing a solo career. Campbell then hit back at his former band mates, claiming that the reason for his depature was due to “management difficulties” that had become “intolerable”. Well, the plot now thickens. Having announced an iminent major label-endorsed roll out of free music download services, Qtrax suffered a devastating blow earlier today, as three of the four record companies slated to have struck a deal with the file-sharing site (EMI, Universal and Warners) denied permission to use their tracks. Qtrax announced the 25 million track programme at the Cannes' MIDEM conference over the weekend. The organisation claimed they would recoup the money lost via free downloads through advertising revenue.

And finally…My Morning Jacket have announced the title of their forthcoming album. Evil Urges will be released on June 10.
