R.E.M Confirm New Album

R.E.M will unveil their 14th studio album, Accelerate, in Europe on March 31. A US release will follow on April 1.

The follow-up to 2004's Around The Sun was recorded in Vancouver and Dublin with Bloc Party/Snow Patrol knob-twiddler Jacknife Lee producing. The new record follows last year's R.E.M Live collection.

Accelerate will include Until The Day Is Done, Living Well Is The Best Revenge, Mr Richards, I'm Gonna DJ and Staring Down The Barrel Of Middle Distance. The band debuted a selection of these tracks during their five-night 'working rehearsal' stint at Dublin's Olympia Theatre last summer.
