As Robert Redford's annual Sundance Film Festival prepares to open its gates on Thursday, we thought it would be good idea to highlight some of the music related movies making their debut at the Utah event.
Here are four of the best.
Title: CSNY Déjà Vu
Director(s): Bernard Shakey (aka Neil Young)
Starring: David Crosby, Graham Nash, Neil Young, Stephen Stills.
What's it all about? Shot during CSNY's 2006 Freedom Of Speech Tour, Young's film has been branded "part performance, part commentary, and very much a call for activism". Expect live performances of classic CSNY material, songs from Young's Living With War and scathing condemnation of recent military activity in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Title: U2 3D
Director(s): Catherine Owens, Mark Pellington
Starring: Bono, The Edge, Adam Clayton, Larry Mullen
What's it all about? The band's 2006 South American stadium shows come to life in 3D on the big screen. Prepare to be immersed into the U2 live experience, as Bono's outstretched hands reach out and touch your bespectacled face. Weird.

Title: Anvil! The Story of Anvil
Director(s): Sacha Gervasi
Starring: Steve “Lips” Kudlow, Robb Reiner
What's it all about? The "demigods of Canadian metal" released the classic genre-defining LP, Metal On Metal in 1982, providing a heavy-as-hell template for the likes of Slayer, Metallica and Anthrax. This is their tempestuous, often very funny, journey into the netherworld.

Title: Patti Smith: Dream Of Life
Director(s): Steven Sebring
Starring: Patti Smith
What's it all about? Having documented the life of New York's premier punk-poet over the last 12 years, Sebring has assembled the footage into this new feature length film. Described as being "layered with mesmerizing recitations, music, narration, performances, graveyard pilgrimages, political rallies, archival nuggets, and vérité moments with her working-class parents, children, and friends."
