Bow down and kneel before 69-year old Paul Mawhinney - the man that owns a truly astonishing 3 million vinyls and 300,000 cds. "It's the history of music," says the Pittsburgh native and the owner or Record Rama Sound Archives. "It's my life's work."
And now Mawhinney has done the unthinkable and put the entire collection up for sale. Don't believe us? Well, why not head over to the ongoing EBAY AUCTION and make a bid? You'll only need a measly $3,000,000 to be in with a chance of securing the warehouse worth of music.
Speaking to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Mawhinney has said he has set of goal of selling the whole shebang by March 1. "I've had a lot of people that wanted it, but they don't have the right kind of capital," he revealed.
Contained within the towering catalogue are such rare gems as an unreleased, untitled Rolling Stones' singles LP recorded in mono worth approximately $10,000, 15 first editions of Elvis' Christmas album and an original first pressing of Phil Spector's A Christmas Gift for You.
Mawhinney, who is suffering from diabetes and is legally blind, states that he would ideally like the collection to find a new home in a national library or museum. His efforts to secure such a deal have so far been unsuccessful.
