NEWS DIGEST: Friday, April 18

Paul Weller will headline a special event at Osborne House on the Isle Of Wight later this summer. The show is due to take place on July 26. The 19th century property is situated in the North East of the island and once played host to Queen Victoria. Tickets go on sale on Monday (April 21) and will be available from www.ticketzone.co.uk or through 08705 321 321.

Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis are to release their new album on July 8. As country superstar meets jazz legend, Two Men With The Blues is set to contain new 10 collaborations from the pair.

Very sad news just in. Danny Federici, Bruce Springsteen's long-serving keyboard player and key member of the E-Street Band, has died in New York the age of 58 following a three year battle with melonoma. He appeared sporadically with The Boss during a show on March 30 in Indianapolis. "Danny and I worked together for 40 years," said Springsteen via a posting on his official site. "He was the most wonderfully fluid keyboard player and a pure natural musician. I loved him very much ... we grew up together."

And finally...Happy Birthday Skip Spence! Moby Grape's errant genius would have been 64 today. Here are the San Fran psyche-popsters on the Mike Douglas Show...
