Sparks will be signing copies of their new album, Exotic Creatures Of The Deep, on Tuesday, May 20 at Borders in Islington. The duo will play the nearby Islington Academy later that night.
The signing will begin at 5pm, just prior to the band taking the stage for a performance of their 1971 debut album Halfnelson. Sparks will then go on to play a record breaking 21 albums in 21 nights. My Bloody Valentine are heading to the States. The band are lined-up to play and curate New York's All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival between September 19 and 21. They'll then go on to play shows in several other U.S. cities (venue/date details to follow shortly). The psyche-rockers will take the stage for the first time in 15 years when they begin their five night stint at London's Roundhouse on June 20.
Elvis Costello has revealed details of his new album Momofuku. The record was released exclusively on vinyl earlier today. More info can be found HERE. The package includes a download card that can be activated after May 1. A CD release is due to follow on May 6.
US soul star Al Wilson has died in California at the age of 68. Born in Mississipi in 1939, he went on to have huge stateside hits in the late '60s with r&b classics The Snake and Do What You Gotta Do. His 1973 LP Weighing In produced another chart success in the form of Show And Tell. Kent records recently released the stunning, Searching for the Dolphins: The Complete Soul City Recordings and More 1967-1971. We suggest you seek it out immediately.
