Saxophonist, Manu Dibango, will now headline this year's Africa Day celebrations in London on Bank Holiday Monday (May 26).
Mali’s Bassekou Kouyate, seen by many as the natural successor to Ali Farka Touré, will also be performing with Ngoni ba at the free event.
Other acts slated to perform include: Emmanuel Jal, Kanda Bongo Man from Zaire, the Kaago Drummers from the Ivory Coast, singer and mbira player, Busi Ncube from Zimbabwe, Osibisa and the Inemo Afrobeat Experience.
London's new mayor, Boris Johnson commented: "The Africa Day celebrations in Trafalgar Square are an excellent opportunity to get a taste of Africa and its many cultures. Let's make this event one to remember".
