MOJO's monthly club night returns on Monday (May 12) with exclusive performances from Northumbrian folk four-piece, Rachel Unthank & The Winterset and new British blues sister, Liz Green.
It’s been a whirlwind few years for the Tyneside quartet. Their 2005 debut, Cruel Sister, quickly became MOJO’s folk album of the year and was soon followed by a show-stealing performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival. Last year’s beguiling follow-up, The Bairns, included their take on songs by the likes of Robert Wyatt and Bonnie Prince Billy, while the combination of traditional melodies and exquisitely crafted piano/vocal arrangements cemented their reputation as one of the most ambitious acts at work today.
Support comes from one of Britain's blistering new talents, Liz Green. You can hear her songs by delving into our Best New Bands of 2008 feature HERE . If her superb performance at MOJO's South-by-Southwest BBQ is anything to go by, we're all in for a real treat.
So, to win a pair of tickets to the MOJO Club at London's Shaw Theatre on Monday, May 12, simply email the answer to the question below to Editor@mojo4music.com by 11pm on Sunday (May 11).
