Track: Happiness Is A Warm Gun

Artist: Aidan Smith

MOJO says: Part of Manchester’s homespun acoustic scene, Aidan Smith’s own songs customarily consist of carefully observed tragi-comedic vignettes. “Magnificent and daunting,” is how Aidan describes the prospect of covering this wry Lennon classic which, itself, flits between the mundane and the deliberately brutal – something which Smith himself clearly identifies with.

  • This is the fine line in this months disc. This track and every track after it had my guaranteed attention, where as I found myself practically falling asleep on the first couple tracks. "Glass Onion" and "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" grabbed my attention enough, but this was the first track I naturally admired.
