Win Paul Heaton Related Swag

PAUL HEATON – the be-chindimpled, sour’n’sour bard of Housemartins and Beautiful South fame – celebrates the release of his first proper solo album (we’re ignoring that Biscuit Boy AKA Crackerman thing) with an exclusive MOJO competition. Win a signed CD, a signed print of the artwork and a signed T-shirt. It’s an autograph apocalypse!

His new record, The Cross Eyed Rambler, is an album full both of the familiar and the genuinely surprising, with a verveful, stripped-down sound indicative of a verveful, booze-free Heaton (he doesn’t look like Ron Dixon anymore!). MOJO called it a "swaggering return to form", but what do we know? Find out more at www.crosseyedrambler.com.

Oh, and that competition...

Mail us with the correct answer to the following question. Paul Heaton came to prominence as the soul-loving frontman of Hull indie ingénus, The Housemartins. What was their first single?

a) Flag Day
b) Fag Day
c) Caravan Of Love

First correct entrant out of the virtual hat on August 11 gets the prize. Don’t forget to include your contact details and mailing address.

  • I am a 'massive' fan of the Housemartins and the Beautiful South since "Flag Day". For me Paul 'PD' Heaton is the most extraordinary musician ever. 'Song For Whoever' is the most extraordinary song. It's nice to see him after some hibernation. Thank you Paul.
