Noel Gallagher has been busy posting a blog on the official Oasis website.

Tales from the Middle of Nowhere currently includes an extract from a dressing room debate on the top ten bands of all time (guess who tops the list?) "This is the 1000th time we’ve been here with this," he reveals. "It never gets any less interesting for me." In other musings, Gallagher reflects on the presidential campaign and admits being impressed by Barack Obama’s recent speech.

German retailer Saturn has announced that it will sell the entire Universal music catalogue online DRM-free. It will be the first European reseller to do this, offering 215, 000 tracks from the labels back catalogue. Other imprints are expected to join soon.

iTunes closest rival, eMusic, has questioned recent deals that have been struck between the music industry and ISPs. The company’s CEO David Pakman told the Financial Times that this could threaten the existense of well-known digital music sites by offering their own legal download services. BT responded to these comments, claiming that: "We have no plans to inhibit in any way the traffic of other legitimate music or content sites, irrespective of whether we eventually offer our own."

John Mellencamp has just recorded a version of Bob Dylan's The Time’s They Are A-Changin. It's streaming now at www.mellencamp.com.

Kings of Leon, currently gearing up for the release of their fourth album Only By The Night, are to release a series of intimate and revealing daily home movies via www.kingsofleon.com.

The 23 webisodes will include behind the scenes footage at the video shoot for Sex On Fire, life on the road with KOL and even a sing-a-long with their mother. Lovely.

And finally...'90s piano popsters, Ben Folds Five are set to reunite for a one-off live performance of their final studio album, The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner. The gig will be the band's first performance together in nearly ten years and will take place in the trio's former hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina on September 18 at UNC Memorial Hall.
