AC/DC have refused to let their new album, Black Ice (reviewed in the current issue of MOJO) be sold via iTunes. "Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned, but this iTunes, God bless 'em, it's going to kill music if they're not careful," lead singer Brian Johnson told Reuters. Black Ice is the band's first new studio release since 2000's Stiff Upper Lip. Under their current contract with Sony Columbia Music, the album will only be available in US Wal-Mart stores and via the band's official website.
It's been almost 50 years since the plane crash that claimed the lives of Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens. Now, the Surf Ballroom and Museum in Clear Lake, Iowa - the location of their final show - is to become an official U.S. rock 'n' roll landmark. To mark the 50th anniversary of the tragedy the venue, in conjunction with the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame are planning a week of shows leading up to the unveiling of the monument on February 3, 2009.
The Crickets, The Big Bopper's son, Chris Montez and Bobby Vee are just some of the stars expected to appear.

Steele told the Boston Herald: "I know I'm the little fish and they're the big fish, but they fucked with the wrong piranha". The piranha currently fronts the band Chelsea City Council. "I want credit, acknowledgment and an apology" he added. "I know that I'm right."
