Phil Spector (pictured here in 1971) once again faces another barrage of media hoopla as Jury selection gets under way in his murder retrial. Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler said: "What we do not want ... is people with an agenda." Spector is accused of killing actress Lana Clarkson at his Californian home in 2003. Last year's trial ended in a jury deadlock.

Marshall Mathers aka Eminem has announced his return to music. The artist has been on hiatus since 2005, but has now revealed he has been working on new material for his forthcoming album Relapse with long-serving studio cohort Dr Dre. Speaking to Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, the rapper stated that he only wants to prove he can still rap and no longer desires the level of infamy he experienced at the height of his career. His memoirs titled The Way I Am were released today.

Speaking of tours, Paul McCartney unexpectedly departed for a jaunt last week, or at least a wax model of his head did. Businessman Joby Carter was transporting it to an auction and managed to leave it on a train. Mr Carter said: "It was just a silly thing to do, if it wasn't so critical to get it back for the auction it would probably be quite funny. So far, we've had a lot of hoax calls from people claiming to have seen the head but nothing concrete.” Have you spotted Macca's head on your travels? Let us know by posting below.

And finally...sad news from the world of soul. Dee Dee Warwick, Dionne Warwick's sister, has died at the age of 63. Her she is in 1968 with I'll Be Better Off.

  • To describe the Metallica tour as a "UK" tour is inaccurate to say the least. What about Wales and Northern Ireland which are also part of the UK?
