Never before seen live footage of The Beatles performing on their first tour of America is going under the hammer on November 4 at 10.30pm.

The film is approximately 2 minutes long and shows the Fab Four performing at an un-scheduled gig in Kansas City on September 17, 1964. It is believed to be the only recording of the concert in existence and was the first and last time the band played the State.

The 8mm silent colour film reel was discovered in August by a family clearing out their estate, and was found lying at the bottom of a drawer in its original photo lab box labelled “Beatles 1964”.

The auction will be taking place at Cameo Auction Rooms just outside Midgham near Reading and the public are welcome to attend. Live online bidding can also be accessed on www.the-saleroom.com/cameo.

AC/DC have topped the charts in 29 countries this week following the release of their new album Black Ice. The band kick off their world tour tonight in support of the album, and will be celebrating reaching sales of 5 million copies of the disc worldwide, as well as shifting a similar amount in back catalogue sales this year.

Following the massive success of their last single Sex On Fire, Kings Of Leon have announced that the next track to be taken from their latest album Only By The Night will be Use Somebody. It will be released on December 8 and the CD single version will come with a Knocked Up remix, courtesy of Lykke Li, and the new video.

Noel Gallagher has once again hinted that the songs for the next Oasis album are already complete. The news comes hot on the heels of the band's seventh album Dig Out Your Soul topping the UK charts.

Speaking to Billboard, he revealed: "It's vastly different from what [Dig Out Your Soul] is". Two "psychedelic epics" entitled I Wanna Live In A Dream (In My Record Machine) and Come On It's Alright are expected to appear on the record.

Gallagher went on to discuss the possibilities of a solo album: "I'm going to do one sooner or later - hopefully sooner rather than later," he mused. "I'm kind of hoping Liam might be arrested soon, and then I'll have time to see it through."

And finally...calling all fans of Life On Mars. Here's a preview of the new US version of the show soundtracked by Chris Cornell.
