ONE OF THE MOST BEGUILING outfits to emerge in the last 12 months, White Hinterland have already drawn comparisons that involve both Joni Mitchell and Peanuts cartoon theme composer Vince Guaraldi in the pages of MOJO magazine, and now we’re delighted to announce that the Portland-based GROUP have been added to October’s MOJO Club bill.
The hotly-tipped three-piece of singer pianist Casey Dienel (vocals, piano), Davis Hooker (guitars, bass) and Matt Meyer (drums) will join Jakob Dylan when he plays a special on-off UK show at Wilton’s Music Hall in London on October 17.
The band, whose full-length Phylactery Factory LP emerged earlier this year, will also release a French language EP, Luniculaire on the Dead Oceans label on October 13. Chant De Grillon taken from the EP is currently available to download from the band’s website www.whitehinterland.com and to hear at myspace.com/caseydienel.
The Wilton’s show itself is already sold out but you can catch White Hinterland at the following shows:
October
16 Brighton, Komedia Studio
18 Manchester, Night & Day Café
19 Cork, Cyprus Avenue
20 Galway, Roisin Dubh
21 Belfast, Auntie Annie's
22 Dublin, Crawdaddy
