Win Move Box Sets!

THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND of the ’60s? Surely not far off, as Roy Wood’s band of Brumbeat bombardiers pioneered the transformation of mod to psych, launched poptastic Radio 1 in 1967 with Flowers In The Rain, and rained mayhem down on early rock audiences as singer Carl Wayne set about TV sets and effigies of Hitler with an axe.

But The Move weren’t the luckiest band of the era, and a notorious libel writ served by then-Prime Minister Harold Wilson (promotional flyers for Flowers In The Rain depicted him in bed with his secretary, Marcia) hobbled their career and soured their relations with flamboyant manager Tony Secunda, whose wheeze it was.

Get a load of the still-awesome I Can Hear The Grass Grow…

Now you can achieve total immersion in The Move’s oeuvre with Salvo/Fly’s The Move Anthology 1966-1972, a comprehensive, 4CD, remastered collection complete with 31 previously unreleased tracks and a 72-page booklet written by MOJO’s Mark Paytress.

MOJO has five box sets to give away, and to be in with a chance of one, just mail editor@mojo4music.com (subject: Move Competition) with the correct answer to the following question…

Which of the following post-Move projects did not feature Roy Wood, even briefly?

a) Electric Light Orchestra
b) Wizzard
c) Balls

Get your entry in by November 7 and don’t forget to include your postal address.

The Move featuring Bev Bevan & Trevor Burton (but not Roy Wood) are currently on tour. Dates include…

November 22 - Nailcote Hall, Berkswell: box office 02476 466 174
