The Kills’ femme fatale is digging Nick Cave. Who’dathought?!
"I like the new Nick Cave record a lot. I’ve never been a big fan. One time a long time ago, we played the same festival. I really liked his show, and I walked up to him to tell him and shake his hand, and he screamed in my face really loudly, ‘Where the fuck is my wife?’ I’d never met him before, so I just said, I don’t know, and ran away. Then we saw him in San Francisco on this tour, and it was brilliant. I was drunk afterwards and told him the story, and he kept denying it all night, but eventually I got to take a picture of him screaming in my face. So I went and bought the record, and it’s really good. It’s not as dark as the earlier records like Murder Ballads. Warren [Ellis, viola player] is really good on this one. I’ve got so much respect for Nick, he’s one of those people who just never runs out of ideas. And he’s a really nice guy – he didn’t scream at me this time."
