Mali’s blues’n’soul husband’n’wife are down with tha Konvict!
"We love Akon. He’s a rapper who lives in America but he’s African, from Senegal, and you can hear it in his voice. He’s a great singer - you really have to hear his voice. He has a new album, but we have been listening to Konvicted, which is two years old. Who is the man, the beatboxer, we worked with in Africa Express? Scratch! He was in The Roots. He’s incredible. And we had Johnny Marr play with us in London. We were singing and he came on stage behind us to play guitar. He is … exceptionnel! He really understood our music."
