The other half of Status Quo went from Pink to Neil Young in 2008
“Pink! I just discovered her the other day, I was flicking channels on the TV and saw her singing her single So What? and I thought, Why haven’t I picked up on her before? Then I forgot all about her, and the next day while flicking, I saw her again and thought exactly the same thing. She really got to me. Then there’s Neil Young’s Living With War. I’ve been listening to Neil Young since Harvest and I love this, it’s just fantastic. It’s something about his voice - this will sound really naff but it just has a haunting quality to it, he can move you to tears easily. I saw him on a show recently on MTV with Emmylou Harris and it was so beautiful, I recorded it and keep playing it. He’s definitely one of the all-time greats.”
