One half of the world’s greatest rhythm section got his groove on in 2008.
“I’ve been listening to T-Pain a lot, a hip hop and R&B singer. His sound is simple, nice harmonies, and really solid. He’s from Florida, not sure exactly where but his music has got a real Miami sound to it. You need to check out Flo Rida’s Low with him on. Flo Rida’s from Miami, the song was a huge hit [in America]. I’ve been getting ideas from that. I also sit down and go back to the oldies, Motown, Stax, Philly - to get a groove on, because you can’t get a groove like that no more. I've also rediscovered Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get by The Dramatics. It’s a most beautiful record and every time I hear that record it does something to me. It’s the vibe and the lyrics and the whole sound. I’m a big fan of drummer Al Jackson from Booker T And The MGs and this year I’ve been listening to a lot more of him. He’s on Otis Redding records, on Otis and Carla Thomas’s Tramp. I just sit and listen, take an idea from him and flip it for modern times.”

T-Pain and Flo Rida are a joke.
Please say there's sarcasm in that and you're not ACTUALLY listening to them.
