The Big Bopper’s coffin is to be sold on eBay by his son, forty-eight years after the '50s star was buried. The Bopper, aka Jiles Perry Richardson Jr, was killed in the same plane crash that claimed the lives of Richie Valens and Buddy Holly on February 3, 1959.
The casket was lifted from its original resting place in 2007 because the family wanted to move Richardson to a better location. His son Jay, born three months after his father’s death, plans to use to money raised to help fund a musical about The Big Bopper's life.
