Robert Johnson, the godfather of the blues, recorded 13 songs at 508 Park Avenue in Dallas. Now this historic building is set for demolition. The current owners, Glazer's Distributors, purchased the property in 1958 and have recently filed to raze the building to the ground.

Robert Johnson's grandson Stephen has said: "I have a lot of dreams I want to do in this building. I had no idea they wanted to tear this down. 2011 marks the 100th anniversary of my grandfather's birth, and my vision was to come down there in 2011 and do some recordings in the same building my granddad recorded in. If they're talking about knocking it down, that would be one big blow to the music world and the history and legacy of my grandfather."

Here's a strange curio for Tom Waits fans. Crawling Down Cahuenga: Tom Waits’ Los Angeles is a new bus tour that takes in many of the great man's old haunts. Waits moved to L.A. in 1972, splitting his time between the Troubadour club on Sunset Strip and the sleazy confines of the Tropicana Inn Motel. For full details of this strange journey, click HERE.

Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller have been discussing the merits of each other's guitar playing, with the Oasis chief branding his own fretwork "average at fucking best". In an interview with Total Guitar magazine, Gallagher said: "It facilitates what I do in Oasis, know what I mean? I'm unfortunate enough that two of my best mates are Johnny Marr of The Smiths and Paul Weller. Those two are virtuosos to me although neither of them would admit it. On the electric guitar they're it. So if you're asking me how do I compare to those two – and I like to compare myself to the greats – I'm average at fucking best."

"Bless him, but his playing is rudimentary," added old chum Weller. "But Noel doesn't pretend to be a guitar god. He's very good at putting chords together and he's got a distinctive style in terms of his chord sequences and his rhythm playing. It's recognisable, I suppose…"

Oasis release their new single Falling Down on March 9. They headline the Benicassim Festival in Spain (July 16 to 19) alongside Paul Weller and Kings Of Leon.
