It was a momentous year in rock history.
From The Beatles' last hurrah to the double-headed monster of the Manson killings and the Altamont debacle, 1969 truly marked the end of an era. Gone was the carefree optimism of the hippies, the psychedelic whimsy of the summer of love now only a fading memory. In its place stood the catastrophic meandering of the Vietnam War and a burning desire from the '60's most heralded stars to finally start kicking some ass.
Albums from The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Stooges and the debut offering from a super-charged blues outfit called Led Zeppelin, would re-align rock for the next decade. In California's Laurel Canyon, denim-clad troubadours created the singer-songwriter template amid super-group chaos; on the US east coast, Bob Dylan re-emerged with a new sound (and a new voice) while his former backing band released their roots masterpiece. Then in August, Max Yasgur - a farmer from Upstate New York - leased his land to a bunch of hippie entrepreneurs. Their plan? To host a festival billed as "three days of peace and music". Everyone, it seemed, was on the way to Woodstock...

As this magazine tells the story of 1969 is Elvis included? If not why not? He isn't mentioned in the summary above and how can you write about the music of that year and not refer to him and place him in the context of the period.Hopefully the singles and albums he released will get a mention but the story of the year can hardly be complete without telling the story of what he achieved in that year.

So have most of the other artists featured so that comment isn't relevant.
Another artist that I notice haven't been mentioned is Creedence Clearwater Revival one of the best and most under rated groups of this year and as far as I know the best selling.

Anyone can call names and swear and it seems to be obvious that you don't have a vocabulary of more than four letter words to say anything constructive. Considering that I doubt you will buy this magazine anyway as you probably won't be able to read it.

Is this mag out yet? I looked in shops and couldn't see it yet. Then I saw it is out on 12th of February. So how come you are complaining about no elvis and no Creedence when you have not seen the mag and do not know whether they are in it.

I wasn't complaining about the magazine just the summary above, both artists should have been mentioned.
As for that other witless creature Simpleton Stan who lifted one word from my previous comment the usual four letter words and nothing of value,my previous message still stands.At least the witless one can stand in the shop and look at the pictures and then won't have to buy it.

I see both Elvis and Creedence are not included so that should be two cover features in the regular magazine to make up for this major oversight. They are both more important than either Manson or Easy Rider.
