Keith Moon is the latest rock icon to receive a blue plaque from English Heritage. The new tribute will be unveiled at the site of the former Marquee Club in London's Soho. Moon's Who bandmates Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend will attend the ceremony alongside former Bee Gee and current Heritage Foundation President Robin Gibb.
David Graham, an English Heritage trustee, told The Independent: “Keith has been overlooked but was such a character – you don't get characters like him any more. We were delighted to organise a plaque for Keith, and the Marquee is the perfect place because it was at the centre of the rock gigs in London.”
Of course, this not the first time Townshend has stepped up to a blue plaque challenge. The Who's axe-man once unveiled a memorial toJimi Hendrix at the guitarist's Mayfair flat. Check out a picture HERE.
