'70s BOVVER-ROCK legends Mott The Hoople have sold out all three of their scheduled 40th Anniversary shows at London's Hammersmith Apollo this October 1-3, but if you're kicking yourself for having missed out, stop right now.
Firstly, demand has been such that two more nights - October 5 and 6, 2009 - go on sale today. The news transforms Mott The Hoople's reunion wheeze into an astonishing 5-night residency.
Secondly, Mott and MOJO combine to give away a pair of tickets for the Saturday, October 3 show. The competition will debut on MOJO4music.com next Wednesday, March 25.
Not coincidentally, this is the UK publication date of the latest MOJO magazine, which features a mammoth Mott exposé penned by former Mott fan club president Kris Needs, plus exclusive tributes by Morrissey, Oasis, The Clash and more.
But if you can't wait till then or run the risk of missing out, tickets for the new dates go on sale today. Priced at £36.00 and £42.50, they're available from: ticketmaster.co.uk; seetickets.com / 08700 603 777; www.ticketweb.co.uk / 08700 600 100.
The Hammersmith Apollo, Mott fans will tell you, is where one side of the famous Mott The Hoople Live album was recorded in 1973 and was the venue the band had to play twice in one day to satisfy ticket demand, the second show ending in near riot when the curtain came down on their final encore.
But that couldn't happen again... could it?
