Young joins a host of acts already confirmed to appear of the weekend, among them The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics and Razorlight.

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight between June 12 and 14. Tickets are on sale now.

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr will appear on stage together next month.

The Beatle pals will play the Change Begins Within gig at New York's Radio City Music Hall on April 4. The event is taking place in aid of the David Lynch Foundation - an organisation that aims to "raise funds to teach one million at-risk children to meditate - giving them life-long tools to overcome stress and violence and promote peace and success in their lives."

Donovan, Sheryl Crow, Moby, Eddie Vedder, Ben Harper, Bettye LaVette and Jim James are also set to appear.

If the collaboration goes ahead, it will be the first time Starr and McCartney have performed together since the Concert For George in 2002.
