NEWS DIGEST: Monday, April 6

Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performed together at a New York's Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night (April 4) during the Change Begins Within concert - a show in aid of The David Lynch Foundation's Transcendental Meditation programme.

The ex-Beatle pals last appeared on the same stage at the Concert For George in 2002.

Following a set that included a brace of Beatle classics, McCartney introduced Starr under his Sgt Pepper alter-ego Billy Shears, before running through a rambunctious version of With A Little Help From My Friends. Starr then took his place behind the drums for a version of Macca's Cosmically Conscious - a song written in Rishikesh in 1968 during The Beatles stay at the Maharishi's Ashram. A fragment of the song appeared as a hidden track on McCartney's 1993 album Off the Ground.

Donovan, Ben Harper, Sheryl Crow, Moby, Paul Horn, Jim James, Eddie Vedder and Bettye Lavette also appeared.
