Levon Helm, drummer extraordinaire and the American fifth of The Band, will return on June 30 with the follow-up to his 2007 album Dirt Farmer. Electric Dirt was recorded at The Barn (Helm's Woodstock studio) with multi-instrumentalist Larry Campbell producing.
New Orleans r&b maestro Allen Toussaint has also provided orchestral arrangements.
A short run of US shows will take place in mid June and Helm's weekly Midnight Ramble sessions will begin again at The Barn on April 18.

Iron Maiden's documentary film, Flight 666, is to be released on DVD/Blu-ray disc on May 25.
Chronicling 45 days of the metal legends Somewhere Back In The World tour, the film was directed by Sam Dunn and Scot McFadyen - the duo behind Metal: A Headbanger's Story. The band's customised Boeing 757, Ed Force One, transported the group around the world and was piloted by Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson.
An accompanying soundtrack album will also be made available on the same day.

I don't know what's so astonishing about 115. Dead is dead, isn't it? Still, if big birthday's rock your world, Leonardo da Vinci would have been a truly gob-smacking 557 years old on the same day as the comparitively foetal young Bessie. So there you go.
