ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons remembers roadying for the guitarists' guitarist!
Billy Gibbons: "Heard Beck in 1968. The Jeff Beck Group had just formed with the stellar line up of Rod Stewart on vocals. Jeff was, of course, leading the tribe, Ron Wood was holding down the bottom end, Mickey Waller was on drums and Nicky Hopkins on piano - absolutely stunning! When they played Houston, Texas, I volunteered to loan them a van and became an equipment boy. I had a great time and we became good friends.
"When I travelled with Hendrix he would always have this coffee table sized record player sent to his hotel rooms and would make us listen to the Jeff Beck Group albums. Jeff is a cornerstone of rock music; a musical genius."

Yes, and in fact Jimmy Page used Jeff Beck's Truth as a template for Led Zeppelin. So among other things, that makes Jeff Beck the co-originator of Heavy Metal, along with Blue Cheer.
