MOJO Honours List 2009: Nominees Announced!

ON JUNE 11, a small army of hot new talent, current stars and bona fide music legends will grace the stage at the annual MOJO Honours List awards ceremony.

Now in its sixth year, the Honours List has seen the likes of James Brown, Arthur Lee, The Who, Noel Gallagher, Led Zeppelin, Lemmy, Morrissey, Marianne Faithfull, Judy Collins, The Clash and The Stooges (to name but a few) join forces to celebrate great music in all its grand forms.

And this year's event is shaping up to be the best yet. Following on from today's announcement at the Honours List Launch event at HMV Oxford Street, MOJO can now exclusively reveal the nominees in this year's five reader-voted-for categories: Album Of The Year, Best Live Act, Breakthrough Act, Compilation Of The Year and Song Of The Year .

Leading the pack with three nominations are Seattle's celestial folkniks Fleet Foxes, with Kings Of Leon, Elbow and Paul Weller picking up two nods a-piece.

The nominees look like this:

  • Excellent job, Josh! I agree with David, you keep improving, and it's wurfendol to see.Inspiring video, and I need it right now since I'm suck in snowy land right now. Parts of this video were at the level of professional cinematography for me, such as the golden leaf fade in and fade out as it was timed to the music. You are truly painting with light now, Josh. I'm definitely going to stay subscribed.Only one question, where did you come across such great music? I notice that Fleet Foxes is on MySpace. Is that what you do, find myspace artists and ask if you can use their music. As a follow videographer, I'm very curious as to how you deal with this.Thanks!
