Having set the agenda for the '80s, Jackson had trouble reading the script in the '90s. Jackson co-produces with Teddy Riley, Bill Bottrell and long-time engineer Bruce Swedien but too much of the material offers little more than a synthesized groove or riff which a selection of guests from rapper Heavy D and rock guitarist Slash do not adequately enliven. He even rewrites Billie Jean as Who Is It. Salvation of the world continues apace on Heal The World.
