Paul McCartney returned to the site of one of The Beatles' greatest triumphs on Friday as he played New York's Citifield Stadium for the first time - the arena stands on the site of the now demolished Shea Stadium.
"The first time we played here, we couldn't hear a thing because of all the girls screaming and the stadium sound system," said McCartney as he looked back on The Beatles first appearance at the New York Mets' home some 44 years ago.

Paul Weller has revealed he feared for his life when a large bush fire broke out at the Benicassim festival on Friday.
High winds caused the blaze to spread towards the thousands of fans watching the Modfather perform on the Spanish festival's main stage. Weller was forced to cut his set short.
"I was f***ing scared," he said. "I came on stage to big black clouds and could see the huge inferno to the left. It was spreading so quickly! About 50 minutes in, the organiser came and forced me off stage as the huge inferno was spreading so quickly and the winds were swirling! I thought the set was one of the best I've done. Although I was scared, I was gutted to come off stage. The crowd were great."
