Krautrock: The Rebirth of Germany, a new documentary charting the rise of a generation of German musical pioneers, is to be screened on BBC FOUR on October 23. And MOJO has been granted an exclusive first look at the film.
Featuring the likes of Neu!, Faust, Can and current MOJO cover stars Kraftwerk, the one-hour documentary will tell the full story of this most disparate and radical of movements. Combining the revolutionary verve of the late '60s with a enigmatic minimalism that eventually saw rock's superstars heading to Germany in hope of capturing these sounds and delivering them to the world, Krautrock would go on to inspire the likes of Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand and Kasabian (to name but a few).
Just over a week to go! Time to check out a teaser for the film featuring Neu! and Iggy Pop:

Too bad you can't really get BBC Four here in Holland. Just BBC1 and BBC2...

I've already seen this 4 times, pretty good I think. Although 58 minutes is far too short to cover anything in depth (apparently the BBC wouldn't give the production company enough money for them to a full 90 documentary)

I watched this twice over the weekend and have spent most of today trying to find out what the track playing over the closing credits was! Annoyingly it isn't included in the tracklist on the BBC website which finishes with Bowie's 'A New Career In A New Town' and it's definitely not that.
I got the impression it was a Cluster track but I don't know for sure and have drawn a blank so far. Is there anyone out there who can point me in the right direction? I feel a pressing need to go out and buy this piece of music!
