The Beatles' back catalogue will be reissued on vinyl, says Jeff Jones, Chief Executive of Apple Corps.
Speaking exclusively to MOJO, Jones revealed that work on the next stage of the Beatles Remastered campaign is currently underway: "We're working on them now," said Jones, "I don't have a release date. To put a release date next to them forces us into a situation where we're releasing something that might not be ready. "
The vinyl remasters will follow this year's stunning Mono and Stereo CD reissues, with the engineers at Abbey Road and Apple already hard at work: "They are incredibly complicated in terms of getting the masters right and getting the packages right," added Jones. "How do you assemble them? How do you put them in a box? How much do they cost? We want to make sure we're doing it right and that people get real value from it."
Recordheads - you may officially begin salivating now. The Beatles vinyl remasters are on the way. No wait...Beatles vinyl remasters BOXSETS are on the way!

Will these be from the hi-rez digital masters made for the CD set, or completely redone from the same analog masters?
It would be great if they completely re-mastered in analog.

I'm baffled, there have been new Beatles vinyl albums for sale in Helsinki... I assumed they were part of the remasters. Luckily I bought the CD Mono Box Set instead.

And what they gonna do to Let It Be??? Originally it was in box with photo-book in tray. Anyway, I`ll put my hands on Rubber Soul, Sgt. Pepper and Let It Be (if replica).

I, for one, have been disappointed in the Beatles CD remasters. Excessive use of compression has changed the vintage character of the sound, and sorely limited the dynamic range. Revolver is a particularly extreme example of this compression-mania-- punchy and clear, but also narrow and artificial sounding, with no space at all for the natural breathing quality of a real performance. I can only hope that the engineering team will factor in some of the criticism they're getting from the CD series as they ready the vinyl versions.

I'm disappointed in the Beatles CDs because they won't play on my bloody CD player! I have an Arcam that cuts off parts of songs, like the horns on Magical Mystery Tour. To make up for this, I'd like them in vinyl, of course ... unless they plan to release them all in a box set only -- even I have a cutoff point for corporate greed.

To paraphrase the great Homer Simpson....hmmm Beatles Remastered on vinyl......mmmmmmrrrrrrrlllllll!!
I haven't got the remastered boxes as yet (one of them is on it's way for Christmas) but I have had a good look at them so I'm hoping that the LP cover art isn't just a straight copy of the original issues but instead LP versions of the new expanded CD cover art and booklets. I've got all of the newer Apple release on vinyI (LIBN, YSS, Love, BBC, Anthologies etc) and they look amazing in the LP format especially LIBN & Love...the booklets blown up to 12" x 12" are stunning and this way they will be different enough for Beatles nuts like myself to want to have them. It follows that the Mono box following on should have a straight cover art reissue because of their replica covers. .

When are they going to put the mono remasters out as seperate CDs? Other bands have done it (Monkees, Bee Gees etc), and usually with both stereo and mono in one CD package... The fact that the mono remasters are only available in a (rather expensive) box is taking the old 'Hilary Briss' out of loyal fabs fans, methinks..... I just hope the vinyl remasters are available as seperate albums....

So the EMI money-making machine rolls on. They did a vinyl re-issue of the original UK releases in the late '90s which I purchased and now out comes a high-priced vinyl box of the same albums re-mastered? The late '90s issues sounded fantastic...A fellow Beatles fanatic and I both thought they sounded just as good as the latest CD re-issues.
Another beef I have with EMI concerns the supposed "limited edition" mono re-masters box. I managed to get a first run issue at $300.00 then EMI puts out another run which can now be purchased for $200.00? Talk about under-handed marketing practices.

An update on this box set would be appreciated from Apple or Mojo. It's been more than a year since this article was written.
I've been looking for an original box set for about a year but hold on until these would be released to compare prices. At $200+ for a used one it's not something you buy everyday and I want to make the right decision.
Are there any other sites that have other informations or updates about this set?
Thanks!

How about Let It Be; MM Tour; plus a complilation of all their single videos on DVD. The CD reissues could have been done with B sides as bonuses or highlights from the Anthologies. But that would be common sense
