Blur are to be honoured with the inaugural PRS Music Heritage Award.
A new plaque is to be placed at the Goods Shed of the East Anglian Railway Museum - the venue in which the band played their first gig in 1989.
"We played our first gig there in 1989 and so it was only fitting that we should return 20 years later to kick off this summer's tour in the place where it all began," said messers Albarn, Coxon, James and Rowntree.
PRS for Music set up the award to recognise the "performance birthplaces" of artists across the country.
The unveiling ceremony is due to take place at the museum next Monday (November 30).
Anyone who was present at the first gig and is interested in attending the plaque unveiling ceremony or has photos of the performance should contact heritageplaque@prsformusic.com to receive an official invite.
