1. The Beatles
Remasters
(Apple)
MOJO said : "The best Beatles music (and that, of course, is most of it) is a federation - not a union - of elements, with the individual contributions so discrete and characterful that any time spent drawing them out is well rewarded...There are hundreds of mini-revelations in store for the Beatle-head." Danny Eccleston

2. Kraftwerk
Remasters
(Mute)
MOJO said : "...beyond their smart conceptualising, self-packaging and mirror held to modern alienation, the restrained and wistful beauty of the best of their music has and will continue to outlive their era." Mat Snow

3. The 13th Floor Elevators
Sign Of The Three Eyed Men
(International Artists)
MOJO said : "The result of five years'...research by Paul Drummond, this box is a labour of love that restores the 13th Floor Elevators to their rightful position as the fearless trailblazers of psychedelia, and as one of the most kick-ass rock bands ever." Jon Savage

4. Big Star
Keep An Eye On The Sky
(Rhino)
MOJO said : "Wrapped in terrific notes and photos, you get all three albums sounding better than ever including alternate mixes that bring out new detail, plus demos, out-takes, band roots, solo sprigs and rarities." Mat Snow

5. Beastie Boys
Paul's Boutique
(Capitol)
MOJO said : "This edition has been tweaked rather than overhauled....no second disc, so no room for non-LP ephemera, but Paul's Boutique hardly needs additional evidence...it remains one of the greatest albums of its - or any other - age." Angus Batey

Agreed w/ the Foxtrot poster. The 1st box (early 70s Gabriel era) is really worthy of this list. Those remasters are awesome.
The Nick Cave remasters (on this list) also rule.

If the Beatles hadn't broken America and the rest of the world Genesis would still be playing the Listers Arms in Huddersfield.
