Tom Waits' 2006 three-disc collection, Orphans: Brawlers, Bawlers & Bastards, will be reissued as a limited edition vinyl set on December 8.
The 7-LP package will feature 62 tracks (including 6 new bonus songs) and a 12-inch booklet.
Waits posted the following message on his official site: "Orphans are rough and tender tunes. Rhumbas about mermaids, shuffles about train wrecks, tarantellas about insects, madrigrals about drowning. Scared, mean, orphaned songs of rapture and melancholy. Songs that grew up hard. Songs of dubious origin rescued from cruel fate and now left wanting only to be cared for. Show that you are not afraid and take them home. They don't bite, they just need attention."
Meanwhile, Waits' foray into the movie world continues unabated. You can catch him in Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus when it hits screens at the end of December and if that wasn't enough Waits-ian surural-ness for you, apocalyptic thriller, Book Of Eli, is set for release in January 2010.
Waits' new album, Glitter & Doom Live, is released next week (November 23) and is reviewed in the next issue of MOJO magazine.
