WHAT A YEAR IT WAS for Portland's psychedelic alchemists Animal Collective. They were the big winners in your world with triumphs in the Best Album (Merriweather Post Pavilion), Best Artist and Best Track (My Girls) categories. Check out their reaction to the news in our exclusive Q&A here.
The long-promised Beatles Remasters were finally delivered in September causing you to fall in love with the Fabs all over again. Those lovingly packaged box sets won Best Reissue. You can read our review of the Stereo and Mono box sets here.

Man, when i first heard MPP i thought it was great, but i never knew they would receive this much attention. Good for them. Hopefully it'll be another good year for the band as they'll be giving us THREE new releases this year (Visual Album, Panda Bear's Solo, Deacon's Solo).

they aren't from Portland. They formed in Baltimore and then have since individually relocated, none of them in Portland...
