It's been working with disadvantaged youth since 1976, and on November 23 The Prince's Trust holds its tenth Rock Gala bash at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Among the performers appearing this year will be Pete Townshend, Kenney Jones, Joss Stone, Julian Lennon, Cerys Matthews, Boy George, Level 42's bass spanker supreme Mark King, Midge Ure, Alison Moyet, The Feeling and rising woman of the saxophone YolanDa Brown (pictured). Musical comic Tim Minchin will also be there.
Quoth Pete Townshend: "I'm delighted to be able to play at this year's concert, nearly 30 years after I helped George Martin organise the very first Rock Gala in 1982 with Kate Bush, Robert Plant, Phil Collins and others... The Trust has helped so many young people I have met. It has done so in simple, direct and practical ways. The Trust's music events have always played a vital role in educating the public about what The Trust does for young people every day."
The Gala was re-launched last November after a break of more than 20 years, raising £600,000.
Tickets can be booked by calling the Royal Albert Hall box office on 020 7589 8212 or viaroyalalberthall.com
