On January 29, 2012, Desert Island Discs will celebrate its 70th anniversary.
Originally introduced to the radio-listening masses as "a programme in which a well-known person is asked the question, if you were to be cast away alone on a desert island, which eight gramophone records would you choose to have with you, assuming of course, that you had a gramophone and an inexhaustible supply of needles", Desert Island Discs has played host to public figures from all walks of life.
Ahead of next year's anniversary, we've compiled a list of some of the musicians who have revealed their Desert Island Discs over the last 22 years. The archive is yet to be completed, so we'll add more as and when they appear online. You can stream or download each programme by following the links below.
