My Bloody Valentine have released their first new studio album since 1991's Loveless.
m b v was made available to buy and download late last night following a tantalising message posted on the band's Facebook page at 9pm. The post read: "We are preparing to go live with the new album/website this evening. We will make an announcement as soon as it's up." At their gig at London's Electric on Sunday, MBV head honcho Kevin Shields hinted that the new album - more than two decades in the making - would be ready for release in "two or three days".
The record is available in CD, 180gram vinyl or download formats - the latter coming in three very MBV-style qualities: 16bit 44.1 K WAV file (cd quality), 320kbps MP3 and 24bit 96 K WAV file.
The album is also currently streaming over at the band's YouTube channel. You can hear it right here.
For more details, head over to the group's new website. In the meantime, it's time to don your headphones, sit back and listen.
My Bloody Valentine won the 2008 MOJO Classic Album Award for Loveless. They tour the UK next month.
