FLEET FOXES, THE FORWARD-thinking folk-rockers with the crystalline harmonies, return with an extraordinary track foretelling their most ambitious album yet. After six years in seeming retreat, Robin Pecknold and bandmates challenge their fans with a serpentine collage of song that moves through distinctive phases – some ecstatic, some more abstruse and troubling. MOJO is reliably informed the track is in keeping with the detailed and fascinating sonic landscapes of their third album, entitled Crack-Up, which will arrive on June 16, via Nonesuch Records.

Crack-Up pre-orders are available now from iTunes and nonesuch.com, where Third Of May / Ōdaigahara may be downloaded instantly. Pre-orders of the album at nonesuch.com also include an exclusive, limited-edition print featuring artwork by Hiroshi Hamaya.

Fleet Foxes' Crack-Up album sleeve: folk-rock goes ECM!

All 11 of the songs on Crack-Up were written by Robin Pecknold. The album was co-produced by Pecknold and Skyler Skjelset, his longtime bandmate, collaborator, and childhood friend, and was recorded at Electric Lady Studios, Sear Sound, The Void, Rare Book Room, Avast, and The Unknown between July 2016 and January 2017.

The band have also announced Australian dates to add to their 2016 tour.
