MOGWAI HAVE POSTED a new video from their forthcoming album Rave Tapes. The video is another collaboration with film maker Antony Crook and was filmed on location in Hawaii earlier this year. The song's sorrowful wash of sad robot vocoder vocal and throbbing synths, a high point of the band's eighth album, is lent even more emotional heft by Hawaii's dramatic backdrop of lush palms, ominous black water and harsh volcanic landscapes. While the creative synthesis of man and nature takes the unlikely new forms of aerial yoga and some art involving soil and light bulbs.
Striking, odd, lump-in-throat stuff to make you swoon. Watch it here:
Rave Tapes is out on Rock Action and Sub Pop on January 20, 2014. You can also also stream Remurdered from the album here.
