Sylvie Simmons
Sylvie Simmons, one of MOJO's Contributing Editors, has written for the magazine since issue No.1. A Londoner, Sylvie ran off to California in the late '70s where, as the L.A correspondent for UK magazines Sounds and Kerrang! and the US rock mag Creem, she interviewed just about everyone, from Michael Jackson to Black Sabbath. Her articles have also appeared in newspapers including the Guardian and the Times. Among her books are acclaimed biographies of Leonard Cohen (I'm Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen) and Serge Gainsbourg (A Fistful of Gitanes). She co-wrote a book on Mötley Crüe and was Debbie Harry's sidekick on her memoir Face It. In the '90s Sylvie launched MOJO's Americana column, which she still writes to this day. Oh and she's a ukulele-playing singer songwriter. Her third album is on the way.
